Tente Factory, Sligo

Tente Ltd is a long established progressive manufacturing facility and is a major employer in South Sligo.  Located in Ballymote, Tente currently employ currently 85 staff in 24-hour round the clock operations.  First opened in 1978, the facility was acquired by the current owners in 1989.  New offices and warehouses were built in 1999-2001.  A further extension is now proceeding to allow for future expansion of the business.

This expansion involves significant extensions to both the Mould Workshop and Warehouse Buildings including all associated ancillary site works.

The Mould Workshop Building will be extended by 1,576m2.  The Warehouse will be extended by 1,137m2.  The structural design for both buildings comprises composite roof sheeting and cladded wall panels, all supported by structural steel portal frames on pad or strip foundations with suspended concrete ground floors and gantry beams.

The associated ancillary Civil Works include car parking, hard standing areas and all underground services, site retaining wall, ramp and oil bund.  Construction works commenced in January 2017 and are expected to be complete by year end.

Jennings O’Donovan are responsible for the overall Project Management of the development including the provision of Planning, Civil & Structural Engineering Services.  This includes Feasibility Studies; Procurement of Planning; arranging Site Investigations and preparing Site Investigation Reports; Structural design of the steel frame; Structural steelwork design; Reinforced concrete design; Undertaking the duties of PSDP and preparing Designer’s Risk Assessments; Preparing Stage Reports for submission to the Client; Cost Analysis and Value Engineering; Preparing Tender Documents and Specifications; Tender Analysis and recommendation of Contractor; Site Inspections; General supervision of construction including Attending Design meetings, Client Meetings and Site Meetings; Preparing Construction Drawings and Specifications; Technical supervision of the Works Contractor; Design and detailing for connections to existing services and infrastructure.
