Due to continued growth in our Construction Professionals Division and an ambitious pipeline of new works, Jennings O’Donovan & Partners have a number of vacancies for Resident Engineers and Project Manager of all levels on water/wastewater projects. In particular, we have immediate roles throughout the northwest, west, and midlands regions.

Resident Engineer (Civil) Requirements:

This Project Management Engineering role is based in the West Region as part of a wider team covering an ambitious pipeline of water sector projects in the region. In this case, projects include Unique Programmes.

The Unique Programme involves the management of a diverse portfolio of improvements such as Dam inspection and repairs, Reservoir Cleaning, Access at Heights, Electrical Programme and Rationalisation across sites throughout the region. Substantial works are ongoing with an ambitious plan in place to support significant capital spend planned in the short term.

 

Candidates should:

  • Hold a degree in Engineering or an equivalent professional qualification in Engineering.
  • Have at least 7 years post-graduate relevant experience with a minimum of 2 years experience on-site supervising Capital Infrastructural Schemes preferably on water/wastewater engineering projects.
  • Have experience in procurement and administering contracts.
  • Have good knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
  • Be capable of writing clear and concise reports.
  • Have a full Clean Driving Licence.
  • Have excellent communication skills, coordination, and organisational skills

The ideal candidate will have experience of:

  • Delivering works in accordance with Specification Requirements.
  • Delivering works to Budget and to Programme.
  • Liaison with Clients, Local Authority personnel, and Stakeholders.
  • Maintaining detailed records of all Site Activities.
  • Tracking Programme of Works and Project Planning.
  • Maintaining Quality Checks.
  • Monitoring Testing to Specification Requirements.
  • Assessment of Contractor claims.
  • Assessment of Contractor payment applications.
  • Reviewing Contractor Design Submissions
  • Compilation of As-built Drawings and Maintenance Manuals.

Jennings O’Donovan & Partners (JOD), a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm, is seeking engineers who are interested in working in the water sector. We have a dedicated Construction Professional Division to support Resident Engineers and Project Management Engineers. Due to continued growth and demand in this sector, Jennings O’Donovan, partnering with AECOM, is actively looking to engage with Engineers who may be interested in a new challenge across a wide variety of roles and opportunities.

The Project Management Engineer’s role is central to driving the delivery of projects on site on behalf of our Client with a particular focus on Health & Safety, programme, cost management and quality of the works. Engineers currently on our RE Team are recognised for duties including the following:

  • Being an ambassador for a proactive safety culture.
  • Monitoring and influencing compliance with contract health and safety requirements.
  • Collaboration with the Contractor in the delivery of works.
  • Proactive liaison with landowners, statutory bodies, and key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be a key member of our regional Site Supervision Team, working collaboratively to continuously improve and consistently deliver the highest standards for our Client.
