Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence

The Sligo GAA Centre of Excellence at Scardanmore, Co. Sligo, was completed over two Phases as detailed below. 

Phase 1 The development on this site of 8.9ha comprising 3 No. full size playing pitches i.e. 140m x 88m with ball stops, car and bus parking facilities, new access road and entrance onto R292 Sligo/Strandhill road, proprietary foul sewage treatment plant with percolation area, surface water detention area and disposal system, public footpaths and associated public lighting, landscaping including treatment to all boundaries and all associated site works.  Pitch No. 2 is a 3G all weather training pitch and 2 No. pitches have floodlighting.

Phase 2 – Two storey changing rooms building (area 1,337sqm) single storey, part two storey building (area 625sqm) to include lobby/ reception, office, toilets, 4 no. changing rooms, gymnasium, meeting room and the new County Board office with ancillary plant and storage rooms, together with all associated site works.

Total construction cost of project was €3.2million.

Services Provided by Jennings O’Donovan included: Civil & Structural Engineering Design Services and role of PSDP including preparing Preliminary Safety & Health Plan, Co-ordination between Designers, Tender Documents, Construction Administration and Final Account.
