Project Description

Lough Rinn International Rowing and Cannoe Course 

This project included the provision of the design, supply, construction, installation and commissioning of an 8-lane ‘Albano System’ Rowing Course (length 2,222m) consisting of longitudinal/cross/buoy wires, guiding pulleys, Albano System of Buoys and associated anchors and fixings, Launch Pontoons (2 No.) and associated works to FISA (Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d’Aviron) Standards. The course was also designed to be adjustable to meet the requirements of International Canoe Federation Canoe Sprint Competition Rules.

This Project won the Local Authority Engineering Initiative Award in the Engineers Ireland Excellance Awards 2018.

The Project was also shortlisted in the Design Excellence Civil – Medium Project Award Category, as part of the ACEI Excellence Awards 2018.
