The Project includes the procurement by DBO of five water treatment plants at Lisbrock, Killeglan, Ballinagard, Rockingham and Ballyfarnon with a combined treatment capacity of 27,000m3/day.
Upgrading works were required to supplement the Scheme’s existing aquifer-sourced water with a surface water supply and to allow the aquifer to recharge naturally. This involved supplementing the existing groundwater source with approximately 750m³/day from Lough Antraicer.
